Well, the fall is calling once again. I am heading out for a three day plein air trip to the eastern side of Missouri along the river by Augusta, Mo. It is beautiful country there and having already been there for the spring season couldn't resist the fall. I have been working on a small 4"x6" and 5"x7" in the field which is working well. This format allows me to get the values and colors down much better than a photo. Then when I look at the photo and compare I get a much more accurate reading for the larger paintings I do from the studies. There still are times that I paint in a larger format in the field if time and weather permit but the smaller studies are a wonderful way to capture the light. You can see some of these small paintings in the "just for fun" collection. I will be also selling these at the Longview Art and World Music Festival in New Longview, Lee's Summit, Mo. October 3rd, 4th and 5th. Come on out and have a good time and see great art and hear great music. There will also be a variety of foods to chose from.
See you there,
Jennylynne

I have posted the first four small format day paintings for sale in the "Day paintings and Just for Fun" Category. I will be selling these on the website and also at the upcoming Art Fair Event on October 3rd, 4th and 5th in Lee's Summit, Mo. Check out the Events Page for more information on this event.
I will be painting "live" at Primary Colors Gallery in Independence. Mo. Sept. 19th during the 3rd Friday's on the Square. I will be working on some small painting formats and also on a portrait. I tend to jump around from one painting to the other which helps keep me on track and my paintings fresh. Stop in and say Hi! I will also have additional framed pastels for sale during the evening. These will be in addition to the pastels the Gallery currently represents at Primary Colors.

Well, I have been busy doing small (4"x6" and 5"x7") paintings for an upcoming art fair. I often do studies in this format to work out the composition and also the values. They often turn out to be beautiful little vignettes and several people have asked if I would sell them. Well-I have decided that I will. I will have them available at the Longview World Music and Art Fair on October 3rd, 4th and 5th. They will be matted, backed and ready for framing and contained in a clear bag ready for transportation to your house. As soon as I get them photographed, I will be posting them on the website for preview before the art fair.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say! to all the wonderful artists that have volunteered to paint portraits for the Grateful Hearts Project. It is very rewarding to know that I belong to a profession that is so giving and ready to help when needed. When I first started the project, I was looking at the daunting task of not only finding time myself to paint the portraits but how to get the word out to not only the families but other artists. I am happy to say we are succeeding on both these fronts.
What a wonderful profession we have chosen-or perhaps it has chosen us. In any event, thanks to all the artists who have stepped up to volunteer. Also if you know of anyone who would like to sponsor a soldier for the framing and shipping costs just send them my way.
Again, thank you and God Bless!
Jennylynne
