Paint Parkville, Parkville, Missouri plein air

Set up for plein air at Parkville

This was the 9th year for this event in the beautiful and quaint town of Parkville, Missouri. It was my first time painting during this event and I really enjoyed it,despite the heat.

I set up in this location as it gave me several views of painting locations, not only from this spot, but within short distances from my artvan.  I love painting water and creeks of which there was an abundance.  I completed two paintings in this location, one of Rush Creek and one of the Linn Creek Bridge.

The Linn Branch Creek Bridge is an historic Waddle “A” frame bridge saved and moved to Parkville by the efforts of its citizens and community.  It is one of just a few bridges left of it’s kind.

Rush Creek is a wonderfully picturesque creek which meanders thru the River Walk Park area before joining the Missouri River. It’s lush foliage was a challenge to paint in all its green summer glory.

These paintings ,along with other participating artists, will be on display and for sale till the end of October, 2021 at the Cathy Kline Art Gallery, 8701 NW River Park Drive, Parkville, Missouri 64152. There number is 913-449-4460.

Hope you can make it up for a lovely day of shopping at all the wonderful shops and restaurants there and don’t forget to stop by the gallery to check out all the fabulous pieces of art depicting scenes from in and around the Parkville area.

Happy travels,

Jennylynne
