Winter Musings
As fall quickly turns into winter, I am reminded that even in the bleakness of the winter season, there is beauty. Sometimes, as artists, it is easy to feel that the winter landscape is not as exciting as perhaps spring or fall but there is an abundance of subjects to tempt the creative juices if you look.
I love that, in the winter, the tree bark is amazing and can be finally seen in all its glorious beauty. The rocks and boulders, that surround the lake I live on, come alive when stripped of the foliage that oft times hides them in other seasons. Even the wildlife changes with the season to give you some new insights into their habitat.
So I will be out with camera and painting gear this fall and winter seasons to capture their beauty on canvas in plein air and the studio.
Happy painting and enjoy the seasons,
Jennylynne Gragg
